It's week 3 and we are getting to know the city more and more everyday. Last weekend we found an outdoor rock climbing wall in a park here! It was a long walk away but so worth it, and FREE... so I can't complain.

Justin started taking Spanish lessons this week and we are speaking more at home too. I have about 6 hours of class a day between group class and private lessons. I'm learning so much and am able to understand a lot more and speak more!
Last weekend I met with a partner through school who wants to learn English. We met and talked for a couple of hours half in Spanish, half in English. We both spoke slowly so each other could understand and I am looking forward to meeting again. I was able to understand most of what she was talking about in Spanish which was exciting and it was really great practice.
I've realized I think a lot before I get places so that I can order and speak correctly. It takes a lot of mental energy and I want to practice speaking more spontaneously. I'm hoping that my comfort level will increase in the next week and that will become easier.
Everyone here has been so patient and kind- when I give them the wrong change, when it takes me extra long to order... they are all really sweet and seem glad we are making the effort to speak Spanish. There isn't much of an option since there aren't a lot of English speakers here- which is great!! Challenging but really great!
On Tuesday this week we really embraced the Spanish lifestyle and went out at midnight to see music in our neighborhood. A friend from school was going to sing a song with her brother's band and she invited us to the bar. The event was a "jam session" they use the english phrase here too and the band was incredible and all swapped instruments. Most of the songs were American which was fun. We were out till 2:30 am. It was crazy to see how many people go out during the week! Que divertido! Una fiesta durante de semana!
